Touchscreen computers offer an incredible, intuitive and engaging way to interact with devices. Whether you’re working collaboratively, demo-ing a product at an event, collecting customer data or some other purpose, a touchscreen offers a great way to go. If you don’t need the device long term, renting touchscreen monitors gives you access to a wide variety of the latest technology and most responsive devices, without the expensive upfront outlay of the cost of ownership.
Here’s everything you need to know about touchscreen hire.
Touchscreen hire: tips and considerations
Here’s everything you need to know about capacitive devices with touchscreen rental.
Different kinds of touchscreen
Thanks to the explosion in smartphones and tablets, we’re all used to a touchscreen nowadays. That said, the options for an interactive touchscreen go far beyond those more common devices:
- Large interactive displays: Perfect for exhibition stands, presentations, events and product demos, a large touchscreen can offer a fantastic way to present technology or for processing information in an engaging way.
- Kiosks, totems and giant tablets: These kinds of touchscreens allow for self service, and are ideal to enable visitors to your exhibition stand or event kiosk to learn more about you and your products and technology, even inviting them to participate by touching the screen.
- Laptops: Touchscreen laptops (which often feature detachable keyboard and stylus, or keyboard and mouse) are ideal for staff who are visiting conferences – they can type on the machines, yet also stay mobile and take customer details when in tablet mode.
- Desktop PCs: PCs with touchscreen capabilities are a dream for designers, allowing them to interact with their creations in an intuitive manner.
How mobile do you need to be?
Will your employees be moving around an event or exhibition hall, perhaps taking down the names and details of new leads or demo-ing your products to an audience? Touchscreen monitors with detachable keyboards could very well be the ideal kit.
Where will the touchscreen be placed?
The location of your touchscreen is important to consider too. Will it be attached to a wall? Do you have space at your exhibition stand or event space for a giant tablet on a floor stand, or touchscreen panels? These kinds of considerations are important in order to decide which type of interactive display touchscreen (large screen? tablet?) is right for you.
How do you want passers-by to interact with you?
Depending on whether you are exhibiting at a conference, in a shopping centre or some other environment, you will have different plans for interacting with passers-by. For example, if you are demo-ing a new piece of technology, like software, you might want a smaller screen you can show off to just one or two viewers. On the other hand, if your goal is to let members of the public and your guests scan through your company’s shopping catalogue, a big screen video wall in an event kiosk might be the way to go.
How many input methods do you need?
Standard touchscreen devices are quality designed pretty much exclusively for experience with the fingers. However, there are other devices and multi-touchscreens which allow interaction with styluses, a mouse, av equipment, sensor, and keyboard too – so think about how many ways you want to interact with the screen.

NEW in 2022 – Custom Content for your Touchscreen:
We spend our daily lives surrounded by touch enabled devices: phones, tablets, laptops, and kiosks (even most modern cars have touchscreens).
So it makes sense to provide your customers / staff with an engaging interactive experience and rent a touch enabled device from Hire Intelligence…. A stand-alone touchscreen (26”, 32”, 43”, 55”, 65”, 75”) on a floor or angled stand, or a floor standing totem (55”).
For any visuals appearing on a rented screen – there must be a computer to manage what appears. The stand-alone touchscreens can be provided with a laptop or Windows NUC (mini PC) and the totems come with Android built-in or an option for Windows. These drive the interactive experience.
Unless you have an in-house design team, you will be limited to what you can actually achieve with this hardware combination. You can
- Display a web-site,
- Display loaded PDF files
- Operate a pre-installed App (via the Play Store or an APK file on Android).
This requires limited setting up, but the person undertaking the installation must know their way around the operating system of the device and open ONLY use the features that you want them to use. (I.e. opening the gallery to show pictures, or opening a web browser and entering address to get to the right website).
But what if you want a fully interactive experience with an intuitive menu that allows all of the above, but also….
- Shows link to specific embedded videos or
- Allows opening of other selected media (specific pictures).
You can get a clearly laid out, intuitive and branded menu from Hire Intelligence, pre-installed onto your hire Touchscreen. (Demonstration link).
